Upper Back Pain
Back pain can be caused by anything from an injury to an underlying health problem. The most common causes of upper back pain are muscular irritation, myofascial pain, joint dysfunction, and injuries related to strain, poor posture, repetitive motions, a herniated disc or degenerated disc, sports injuries, and automobile incidents.
Some of these types of injuries are mendable with manual treatments, such as physical therapy, chiropractic or osteopathic manipulation, massage therapy, or acupuncture. Pain that is more severe or long-term, however, sometimes requires injections or surgical intervention.
