Neurospine Imaging Department
Call Imaging: 541-284-0534
Here at the NeuroSpine Imaging Department, we focus on patient comfort and convenience. Our services include X-Ray and MRI. In most cases, we offer imaging on the same day as your doctors appointment! Every member of our staff is ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registered and Oregon Board certified. The lead technologists have a combined 35 years of medical imaging experience and hold advanced certifications in MRI and Computed Tomography.
The diagnostic imaging room provides superb CR digital images. We offer a full range of x-ray exams due to the adjustable reciprocating vertical wall bucky and 12:1 ratio scatter-reducing table bucky. We strive to use the lowest possible dose on our exams in accordance with ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) standards.
NeuroSpine also has a scoliosis package that can take a single image of the entire spine in each of two planes, greatly reducing patient exposure.
We have three C-Arm machines on site. Two are Siemens and our newest C-Arm is a GE OEC 9900. All three C-Arms are equipt with low dose options to reduce harmful radiation dosage to our patients. Our C-Arms are utilized in the operating room during surgery and pain injections to confirm placement.
The high field MRI machine offers a short bore for a more comfortable examination. Depending on the exam we may be able to offer a feet first option for our claustrophobic patients. The advanced pulse sequence software, contained on our Siemens 1.5 Tesla scanner, shortens exam times while maintaining a high diagnostic exam.
If this is your first time ever having an X-Ray or CT Scan, here are some things you should know:
- You will be asked to change into medical scrubs, if you are wearing clothes that include metal (jeans, for example). To avoid this, please choose to wear sweat pants/metal-free clothes for the appointment.
- A locked compartment will be made available to you, for your personal belongings.
- If you have extra needs prior to your appointment (ex., need for a gurney, wheelchair, or wedges) please call the office to learn about what accommodations can be made for your situation.
- Lifting help, such as a Hoyer Lift, is not available.
When your imaging is all done, it can be sent to ordering, referring, or continuing care providers in a dicom format via our Nova Rad PACS System. As another option, patients and providers can obtain the images via CD format. Patients may also choose to have CD’s mailed to them to avoid an extra trip to the office.
If you are claustrophobic, please contact our office regarding options prior to your scan. If you do not know you’re claustrophobic and realize during the course of your procedure that you are, we can reschedule your appointment for a future date.
If you have any questions before your appointment, please feel free to call us (541) 284-0534. We look forward to serving you and meeting all of your imaging needs!
