Nevro Neurostimulation System
Access to a Therapy Proven to Deliver Better Outcomes
Nevro specializes in treating chronic back and leg pain, non-surgical back pain, and painful diabetic neuropathy. Our system offers a broader range of therapy options, allowing care to be personalized to each patient’s needs for long-term relief. Unlike some alternatives that require an external adhesive worn on the skin, Nevro is fully implanted beneath the skin, similar to a pacemaker, making daily life simpler while giving patients access to the most advanced options for effective pain relief.
Nevro’s therapy uses unique stimulation frequencies that no other company can offer. Through patented technology, Nevro is the only provider able to deliver high-frequency stimulation above 1,200 Hz, a patent that is protected through 2035. Years of clinical research have gone into understanding how these higher frequencies work, allowing Nevro to develop a therapy that is designed to provide maximum pain relief for our patients.
Our therapy uses an advanced form of spinal cord stimulation that works at a much higher frequency than traditional devices. While most stimulators operate at lower frequencies, our technology can deliver therapy at up to 10,000 Hz, a level that has been extensively studied and shown to provide better pain relief. This allows us to offer patients a proven treatment option that goes beyond standard stimulation, without taking away any existing benefits.
Nevro is parasthesia-free. Most SCS systems use paresthesia, active electrical sensations, to assist in relief. Nevro’s proprietary 10khz therapy is paresthesia-independent, meaning patients don’t have to live with buzzing and tingling for the rest of their lives to achieve pain relief.
How NEVRO Works:
Clinical studies show strong results. In a two-year study comparing our therapy to a leading traditional stimulator for chronic back and leg pain after spine surgery, 76% of patients experienced at least 50% pain relief, compared to 49% with standard therapy. These results led Medicare to recognize and approve this therapy based on its superior outcomes.

What to expect at NeuroSpine with the Nevro Neurostimulation System:
Before receiving a permanent implant, patients first complete a trial period. During this trial, thin wires are temporarily placed and connected to a small device worn on the back for about one week. The trial period is like a test drive for the patient. During this time, our team works closely with patients every day to make sure the therapy is helping. At the end of the trial, patients decide how much pain relief they experienced. If the trial significantly reduces their pain, the doctor can move forward with placing the permanent device.
One key difference with this therapy is comfort and convenience. Unlike some other systems that require patients to wear an adhesive patch on their back long-term, this device is fully implanted under the skin, similar to a pacemaker. There are no external patches or accessories needed.
Patients control their therapy easily using their own iPhone or a provided smartphone. The app allows patients to give daily feedback about their pain, and the system automatically adjusts to help provide the best possible relief. This makes the therapy simple to use, personalized, and designed to fit seamlessly into everyday life.
